Halcyon Doula Services

Answering the Call
Why I Became an End-of-Life Practitioner
Several years ago, I answered the call to serve those on their journey transitioning from this world. I hold a Certificate as an End-of-Life Doula from University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. I will soon earn their specialized Pediatric End-of-Life Doula Certificate as well. My undergraduate and advanced degrees are in Religious Studies and Thanatology, respectively. This robust training enables me to offer a comprehensive array of services to my patients and their families. Drawing upon my education, and the experience of having accompanied my husband and my parents in their final days, I am committed to providing my patients with a good death.

In addition to being a Thanatologist and an End-of-Life Doula, I am also a Clinical Chaplain, providing spiritual support to hospice and palliative care patients. I facilitate grief support groups and host Death Café events. I believe when we view death as a lifecycle event, rather than a medical event, we reduce our fear of dying, allowing us to create the good death.
